I just finished the 1st part and received the additional material, now I'm reading the 2nd part. I can't help myself! I wanna know what happens to this tortured couple and all their ideas of what should be in a relationship of this type. I love the conflict with the emperor and his feelings for her and his need to make her suffer for the perceived betrayal.
Yes, this book is set in a "similar" frame to Addison Cain's books but I disagree that it's so similar. First, I found Drocco a much more complex character. The kind of character that, like Mercer in Sophie Kisker's Midrosian "Tears of Surrender", I wanted to hate so much at first - and honestly that one is still sitting on the fence even after the second book. But I also found Cailyn's responses interesting and complex especially since they are in great part the result of lies fed to her as she grew up. Anyway I enjoyed it and the second book in the series left me waiting for more

Crave to Conquer is set in an "Omegaverse" and had a similar feel to Addison Cain's Alphas Claim series, except it was better. This H doesn't cheat and is never interested in an ow after meeting the h even BEFORE they are in a relationship.

****trigger alert****** The H rapes h repeatedly. (I will explain below.)

****SPOILER ALERT*******

The H is the Alpha of the Alphas. He's a conquering emperor and very focused on trying to find the missing Omegas. The h is an Omega in disguise. She's strong and willful and intrigues the H right away. Unfortunately for the H, he has to wait to bed her as he has her working for him. Waiting is something new for him as is having anyone stand up to him. The H is very dominant, jealous, possessive, controlling and fixated on the h right away. When he learns she's an Omega, this behavior intensifies.

The h is a spy and the H needs to get information from her. His interrogation technique is to bed the h, which she enjoys. (Remember, she's an Omega and thus her hormones take over when she is exposed to an Alpha's pheromones.) After they are intimate but before separation, the H "knots" the h and then questions her. When she doesn't answer his questions, he pulls his knot out and rips her and it's excruciatingly painful to her. Then he applies a magical ointment to heal her and a few hours later when she's healed the same thing happens again. Everytime the H approaches the h she is unable to resist him even though she knows that excruciating pain will be the end result. This goes on for about a week.

Later, when the H realizes how he emotionally damaged the h, he spends about 3 months with her, locked in his bedroom tending to her and makes no demands of her. He holds her and purrs to her as it comforts her, feeds her, bathes her, is intimate with her when she wants, etc. Everything is according to her desire and she sets the pace. He wants to mate with her but in this Omegaverse the Omega must consent to the mating and bite the Alpha first.

Crave to Conquer is escapism reading at it's finest! I was blown away by how good this book was and look forward to reading more books from Ms. Ellis in the future.
I paid 4.00 for this book and I have read more original and better off of kindle unlimited. I've paid for books before but they are exceptional and keep me going. It's a cliff hanger and there wasn't much of a story to begin with in the first book. Not that interested in finding out about the couple for the price. The entire book series will cost
Me about 14 dollars and I know better authors without cliffhangers for less money.
The part of the book that I liked the most was the spells and witchcraft. I was expecting something great from that angle. Most of the book was about him purring and the woman being comforted after some abusive scene. I think I like Addison Caine much more for this kind of book especially since she's on UC.
This book is about rape. Not a fan.
I was excited to find another omegaverse novel with Alphas and Omegas. This was the first book I read by Zoey Ellis and I am impatiently waiting for the next. I loved that Drocco was attracted to Cailyn before realizing her true nature as an omega... and when he did find out? What a scene! I loved it. There were some dark parts to their relationship but Drocco gets some advice and changes his ways and I just loved that he was willing to do that in order to save the connection with Cailyn. The books ends on a cliffhanger and I am desperately waiting for this book. Absolutely recommend this book if you are interested in the Omegaverse!
There dark then there just evil. He tortured her using sex, repeatedly, not just rape but rips her up internally, for months. If I was her I would have killed myself to escape. Because she has the audacity to escape he vows to do worse. Oh and the people she calls Mothers dump her and tell her to go back to him. Sorry about the spoilers but you really need to understand how ugly this book is.
